Alter leaving Juan de Nova, in the Mozambique Channel, the Grace Ilarwar experienced a period of light variable winds, terminating in a tropical hurricane. Several sails were blown away, but the Grace Harwar ran clear of the centre of the disturbance. One man had his collarbone broken, but it was successfully set by the captain. Thereafter the vessel ran into the region of westerly winds, and made a good passage until nearing the New Zealand coast, where light, variable winds again delayed her. She was sighted 22 miles off Tiri at 4.30 p.m. yesterday, and towed in by the tug Te Awhina.
