There was a good attendance or players on the Thames green on Saturday when many good heads were played Much interest was taken in the challenge for the Goldflelds Stars between Goldsbury and Koscnfeldt, of Te Aroha (challengers) and Pratt and Alexander, Thames (holders). The first rive heads all -went to the holders, giving them a lead of 7. At the conclusion of the tenth head Te Aroha had scored !i to I hy Thames. At the end of the seventeenth head the score was still IS— 10 iii the challengers' favour. The next three went to Thames with a three, a two, and a single, leaving Thames to get two on tiie last head to hold the trophic*. They were lying one when Alexander, with his last how),' endeavoured to draw another shot, but, unluckily, carried the jack too far and Rosenfeldt's howl counted, thus giving Te Aroha the stars, which were handed over amid cheers.
