WANGANUI TROTTING CLUB.
A ONE-DAY FIXTURE. (B.v Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") WANGANUJ, Saturday. The Wanganui Trotting Club recently iecidcd not to hold a race meeting this •ear, but a number of trotting enthusiasts sot to work with a view to inducing the slub to rescind this resolution. As a ■esult of canvassing for new members they secured no fewer than 82 and got promises rom many willing to act on the gates, is flagmen and fill other positions free of 'ost. The object was to ensure at least a )ne-day meeting. Representations were nade to the club and a special meeting vas called, when it was decided to hold a me-day meeting on Saturday, April 9, vhich will be a week later than the Tarauaki meeting, which follows the Hawera Caster meeting. The enthusiasm shown uigurs well for the success of tha meeting 11 Wanganui. The new in Ambers also lecured a guarantee amounting to £87, ind in addition Mr. J. R. Corrigan has ifl'ercd to donate a cup. AUCKLAND TROTTING CLUB. Nominations for all events to be decided t the Auckland Trotting Club's February neeting dose with the secretary, Mr. G. Mabce, at 5 p.m. next Friday.
