Since winning at Stratforc the Chief Ruler gelding has gone on the right way and he is liKely to win a race or two in the near future. Just an Idet will be taken on to New Plymouth anc will-be accompanied by Callan. This mart has done some schooling over the hurdles and has shaped in very promising style It will not be surprising to find her win' ning over the sticks over distances up tc a mile and three-quarters. W. Ruyner has both Pomp and Genesta engaged at Wanganui. The former is in great heart, though he has not done much fast work recently owing to the trackf having been so hard. His form at Ellerslie was good, though he did not win a race, and he is likely to show to better advantage here. Korokio was a trifle sore at Trentham, but she has thrown the trouble off, and now that the going will be easier she - should go on all right. Auctioneer is to run at Wanganui unless the soreness which frequently troubles him comes against him again. Mr. B. T. Bennett has the son of Gasbag looking well. Just an Idea . will, probably be given a race over the hurdles at Wanganui. This gelding has shown natural jumping ability and he can be ticked off as one worth watching in hurdle events. He takes his jumps in great fast and clean, and with his pace on the flat will be hard to beat at this game. Sea Scout, a filly by Night Raid out of Sea Maid, is showing a lot of pace on the tracks. She is to run in the Maiden at' Wanganui and promises to prove very hard to beat. Arisus has had a let up since racing at Trentham, where he ran below expectations. but he will only need to reproduce his Ellerslie form to pick up some money in his Wanganui engagements. 1 " . P. Joyspear has been showing improved form recently and he will take a power of beating in the Nolan Hack Cup at Hawera on Wednesday if he runs up to his best. Since returning from Trentham this filly has been allowed to take things easy, but she is in great heart., Head Lady is inclined to give trouble at the barrier, but if she jumps off right she will keep them all very busy. The daughter of Chief Ruler gathers up her speed in a few strides and has shown that she can run five furlongs in fast time, though such brilliant finishers as Cadland, Laughing Prince and Lady Quex may cut her down at the finish.
