DESPOILING A BEACH.
I desire to enter my emphatic protest against the erection of another shed, or lollieetall, of not very artistic design on the beautiful Titirangi Beach. Right in the centre and at the most favoured part this eyesore is being built. In front of this shed and between the children's swings stands an Ugly hotwater copper and tank complete. Besides occupying valuable space, the view from the busli is completely spoilt. Already there are sufficient hot water and ice cream stalls to cope with all the trade offering, and it behoves whoever is responsible to immediately,-take steps to have this offence against the artistic removed. The proposed Domain Road is freeh in memory, and one would have thought that the guardians of our public parks would have walked carefully. Might I suggest in this connection that the formation in Auckland Of a vigilance committee for scenery preservation is long overdue? Such a society would have saved the despoiling of lovely bays, headlands, parks and other places whose beauty can never be replaced. RESIDENT NATURE LOVER.
