REP. CRICKET.
PLAYERS FOR PRACTICE. SIDE TO MEET AFRICANS. COACHING FOR YOUNGSTERS. The following thirteen pla3'ers have been chosen to practice with a view to the selection' of the side to represent Auckland against the South African cricketers at Eden Park, on February 23, 24 and 25: —E. Cleverley, A. M. Matheson, R. E. Frater, A. J. l'ostles, J. 10. Mills, G. L. Weir, H. D. Gillespie, 0. F. W. Allcott, I!. W. Rowntree, H. G. Vivian, I'. Wbitelaw, A. W. McCoy, T. Lyon. L. S. Smith, who performed most promisingly for Auckland in the Plunket Shield matches against Otago and Canterbury, is at present in hospital from injuries sustained in a motor cycle accident. In accordance with a suggestion made by the Auckland representatives who were with the New Zealand team in England, that promising young players should be specially chosen to attend and take part in rep. practice, for both experience and tuition, the following colts have been picked to join with the prospective rep. players in practice:—H. Pearson (King's 0.13.), Sale (North Shore), Lewis (King's O.B.), M. Wallace (Pt, Chevalier), Farquhar (Ponsonby).
