MECHANIC killed.
MOTOR CYCLE CRASHES, (By Telegraph.—'Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH; Sunday. A young man, Mr. Frederick Sweegland Horneman, aged 23 years, a mechanic employed by tho Post and -Telegraph Department, who resided at "0, Rossall Street, Merivale, was killed r'jj 1 a . motor cycle he was riding colMed with a motor car on Beach Road, Kaiapoi, at 9 p.m. yesterday. The driver of the car, Mr. Frederick Mas, and Miss Kathleen Baker, who was, pillion-riding on the motor cycle, both ofKaiapoi, suffered minor injuries. All three were removed to the Christchurch Hospital. Mr. Horneman died without regaining consciousness.
