COROMANDEL MINING.
PEGGING OUT FORESHORE. OVER 200 ACRES SECURED. Four different parties have just pegged out over 200 acres of the foreshore at Coromaudel all round the frontage of the Hauraki mine, the idea being to dredge for the loose gold that is known to exist in that formation. This 'has been tried in the past, but difficulty was found in dissolving the pug. It is now considered certain that the difficulty can be successfully _ coped with, hence the present activity in securing areas of the foreshore. For years prospectors used to get gold by working the foreshore between the tides, but now the work is to be done thoroughly with dredges, and it is probable that tube mills will be used to dissolve the pug, so that the gold can be easily saved. KING SOLOMON DEEP LEAD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Friday. The mine manager of the King Solomon Deep Lead, Ltd. (Gore), reports that tha wash up for the week was 470z 2dwt.
