Spelter.—Spot, £14 5/ (£l4 8/9); three months, £14 12/6 (£l4 W3). Tin—Spot, £140 16/3 (£l4O 11/3); three months, £143 16/3 (£143 1/3). SYDNEY WOOL SALES. SYDNEY, January 20. At the wool sales to-day 10,655 bales were offered and 9875 sold, also 468 were sold privately. All the best features dominated to-day's auctions, a pleasing aspect being special inquiry for all fine to superfine wools on German, French, and Yorkshire account. Japanese buyers still operated on suitable lines. Greasy Merino made 23 1 /id per lb. DAIRY PRODUCE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London principals, Messrs. Samuel Page and Son, dated 20th instant:—Butter: The market is weak. Now Zealand, finest salted, 95/ to 97/; Danish, 116/ to 118/; Australian, finest unealted, 104/ to 108/; finest salted, 94/ to 96/; g.a.q., 90/ to 93/. Cheese: The market is slow. New Zealand, white, 58/ to 59/; coloured, 57/ to 58/; Canadian, white, 66/ to 70/; coloured, 66/ to 70/; Australian, white, 55/ to 57/; coloured, 54/ to 55/. The proposed high German tariff on Danish butter may further weaken the market. Tho New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. has received the following cable from its London house, dated January 20:—Butter: 95/ .to 96/ per cwt. Cheese: White, 56/ to 57/; coloured, 56/. Market slow. LONDON WOOL SALE. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 20th instant:—Tho wool sales continue active, with brisk competition. Merinos good, crossbreds fine, broken and pieces dearer. The sales will close on January 29.
