N.Z. RINK CHAMPIONSHIPS. ; TOURNEY AT CKRISICHURCH. RESULT OF SEVENTH ROUND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The weather is fine for the last day of section play in the New Zealand bowling rinks championship. The conditions call for eight rounds before postsectional contests (commencing on Wednesday next), which will be decided 011 the automatic "two lives" system. M. Walker (Auckland) has a lead of two wins over the other rinks in his section. He defeated Burtlett (EIIII- - by 14 this morning. Laurenson (Linwood) ran into second place behind Walker by winning against Goldstone's Opawa team. W. Breiiincr (West End, Auckland) gained lii<s sixth victory this morning, and leads Skoglund (Stratford) ami Burgess (Opawa) by one. Skoglund was defeated by eleven by Tonkin's Northcast- Valley rink. The defeat of CaliTcr (Phoenix) by Morgan (Heatheote) was one of the surprises of the morning's play. Morgan won by eight, and, incidentally, put I"oster (Caledonian) on level terms with Calder. Foster defeated Peek (Greymouth). Sprosen (Linwood) who won against Monk (K.tiapoi Working Men's Club) was runner-up to the two leaders, but will need another win to allow him to qualify for post-sectional play. •J. I"indlay (Mount Eden) lost liis chance of participation in the final stages of the rinks tournament through being defeated by Bandy's Papanui rink. I'indlay finished 15 down, which left him two championship points behind Ramsay (Shirley) and one behind Bandy, who will require another win to make him eli<riblc. Hutchison (Dunedin) suffered his second defeat, when he went down before Murray (Fitzroy) this morning.
