Late last week fire completely destroyed a six-roomed villa, occupied by Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Vining, 011 Awaroa Creek. About 6.30 p.m. Mrs. Vining went out to assist in the milking shxul for a short time, leaving a fire in the kitchen range. She returned half an hour later to find the back of the premises in flames. Neighbours gave assistance and Mr. VinTng braved the smoke to enter a bedroom "window and save bedclothes, the wirclefis set and other small things, xhe house, which was insured, was a total loss. No clothes or otlier inflammable material had been left in front of the stove, and it is presumed that the outbreak was causcd by a spark.
