CONVERTING AN "EYESORE."
LAND AT COX'S CREEK. TWO NEW TENNIS COURTS. Arrangements have been made by the city engineer's department to convert a Grey Lynn "eyesore" into two asphalted tennis courts. An area of City Council property at Cox's Creek, on the corner of West End Road and Fife Street, lias been filled in with surplus soil and. clinkers from the destructor, and a start is being made with the laying down of the courts, which, when completed, will be rented from the council by a local tennis club. When referring to the matter this morning, the city engineer, Mr. J. Tyler, said he had recently been informed by an authority than the 15 asphalt courts which had been laid down by the com;:-';l at the Epsom reserve, Windmill Road, could rank among the best in NewZealand.
