Reinforcements Arrive at Tientsin. residents moving away. {" Xizies " Caile-s.) (HecsiTed 12 noon.) PEKING, December 27. t; from Tientsin states: y.? battalions of infantry and some artillery, as reinforcements for the Japanese garrison, arrived here during the week-end. A semi-ofiieiai Japanese statement explains that the troops are merely for the protection of Japanese nationals and that there is no intention of taking positive action unless provoked by the Chinese. Many of the latter, however, "who are resident in the 'native city, are apprehensive and are moving into the foreign concessions."
