I SECOND DAY AT ELLERSLIE iFourteen In Summer Cup.—Tomorrow's Fields Reviewed. The summer meeting of the Auckland Hacing Club will be advanced another 'stage to-morrow at Ellerslie, and with the good fields engaged it only remains for the weather to be fine for another lexcellent day's racing to be provided. LThe Fergusson Handicap. Thirteen remain in the Fergusson andicap, and Nea Lap, after her success j«vn Saturday, will have some friends. tJalldy Karo did not fulfil his engagefment on the opening day, but Juniper i'ran third in the Robinson Handicap, land should be improved. Te Money has shown good form this season, and was third in a nine-furlong event at Takapuna, whicli was her last effort. Trislina was placed twice at Te Awamutu, being second to Taurua over a mile, and second to Leitrim over seven furlongs. Chief Jewel failed in the Queen's Plate on Saturday, while Knight of Australia scored over seven furlongs at Takapuna. Hit the Deck and Exaggeration may be the best of the others. A trio that may be fancied are JUNIPER, NEA LAP, TRISHNA. The King's Plate. Cadland and Supremacy are at the head of the field engaged in the King's Plate. The former finished fourth in the Railway Handicap, which Supremacy won at a difference of lOlbs. Now they meet on level terms, but Supremacy should again hold his own. Karapoti showed up for a good way in the Railway Handicap, and Is likely to be a better horse to-morrow in the smaller fieldBronze Eagle has shown good form recently, and his successes in the New Zealand Derby and the Stead Cup at Riccarton will ensure him a lot of friends. Golden Wings and Baroscope appeal most of the others. Most money may go on BRONZE EAGLE, SUPREMACY, KARAPOTI. The Jumpers. , . , A good field of jumpers is engaged in the Ponsonby Hurdles. Pennyplain won nicely on Saturday, and should again be hard to beat. Cruaehan is a likely sort, while Simeon should be improved as the result of his outing on Saturday. Russet Moor ran a good race on Saturday to finish second. Advance Camp and Golden Wedding may have most friends of the others engaged. Recent form will probably cause backers to go for PENNYPLAIN, •RUSSET MOOR, SIMEON. The Summer Cup. Pegaway won the Christmas Handicap so well that he should again go a good race in the Summer Cup, despite his big weight. Lady Pam ran second in the Manawatu Cup on Saturday, anu her recent form has been good. Compris finished third in the Auckland Cup, and on that showing should again be hard to beat. Seatown was prominent for a good way in that event, while Admiral Drake, the winner, should again be in the picture. Jaloux was prominent for most of the distance in the Auckland Cup, while of the others Chromadyne, Prince Val, Royal Doulton and Baroscope all have chances. The public may go for COMPRIS, LADY PAM, JALOUX. The Two-year-olds. Seven remain in the Criterion Handicap. Closing Time won well on Saturday, and should again be hard to beat. Midinette dead-heated for third place in the Great Northern Foal Stakes, while Gold Trail was second to Closing Time. Princess Bell and Delice may appeal most of the remainder. The best backed may be CLOSING TIME, MIDINETTE, GOLD TRAIL. Waitemata Handicap. The Waitemata Handicap is a mile and a quarter event for horees that have never won over more than seven furlongs. Speedmint has shown useful form up to the latter distance. Grand Spirit has been going along nicely at Ellerslie, while Lordly Knight has shown winning form at Gisborne. Chief Jewel is engaged, earlier in the day, while United was jufit beaten by Limeen over nine furlongs at Takapuna. Sunny Sky showed up for a good way in the Robinson Handicap on Saturday, and she, Valmaire and King's Knave may be the beet of the more-lightly weighted ones. Backers may go iror SPEEDMINT. UNITED, VALMAIRE. The Sprinters. Lady Quex Is top weight in the Electric handicap, and she was in the firing line in the Railway Handicap till the

straight, when she faded out. Leitrim won well at Te Awamutu and should again prove difficult to dispose of. Paganelli and Spoon both failed on Saturday, though the latter was well up when the field turned for home in the Christinas Handicap. Gay Lap was second in the Eailway Handicap, and a repetition of that form would make him again hard to beat. Arisus ran a good race in the same event, while Persham and Royal Ruler will also have support. Recent form may induce backers to follow LEITRIM, GAY LAP, ARISUS. The Final Event. The programme will conclude with the Plunket Handicap and probably most support will be forthcoming for TAURUA, CHIEF COOK, I AUTUMN SUN. The list is:—• FERGUSSON HANDICAP of 250sovs. One mile.
