WORK AT ELLERSLIE.

A QUIET MORNING. SEVERAL HORSES SCHOOLED. The weather was fine for training at Ellerslie this morning, but there was not much fast galloping. No. 2 gpass was available and there was one gallop on thecourse proper, on which the poles were 30ft out. The majority of the horses worked on the tan track, and several horses were schooled. The going was in excellent order. The Course Proper. .Grand Spirit and Restaurant were sent over a mile, running the first two furlongs in 255, three in 38 l-ss, four, in 525, andxthe full distance in 1.49 1-5. Grand Spirit was holding her companion easily at the finish. "No. 2 Grass. Stimulant was , too good for the . Kilbroney—Maveelish filly over six furlongs run in 1.22 1-5, although the latter could have done better. Hampton Park and Vandyke were sent six furlongs, running the first three in 38 J-ss, and the full distance in 1.18 3-5. They were on terms at the finish, bpth ■ going well. Vilma sprinted half a.mile in.sls, and Kiltowyn, after beginning slowly, sprinted three furlongs in 38 2-ss. Glenhaupo sprinted home from the three-furlong post in 39 l-ss. The Jumpers.

Patutahi (Olive) gave a safe display over two hurdles, and afterwards worked over a round on the tan track. Golden Wedding (H. Dulieu) was schooled over four hurdles. She hadilittle pace on, but Rave a safe display. Capere (T. Williams) cleared two pony hurdles in good style, showing good promise. for a novice. Sir Archie (Chaplin) was schooled over hurdles. He blundered at the first and threw his rider, who had one of his arms bruised. When remounted he negotiated a couple of pony hurdles twice without mistake. Dominican (Craddock) and Master CJements (Burgess) were cally together throughout a bout over four' hurdles, both horses fencing eafely. Coolmint (Craddock), who is now in R. W. Lewis' stable, negotiated four ■ schooling hurdles. He fenced high, over the first two, but otherwise gave a good exhibition. .. Other horses to do useful tasks, mostly on the tan track, were Sir Mond, Royal Gallant, Speedfast, Marchalong, MoonHeet, Tatyoon, Spring. Abbey, Te Money, Good Idea, Golden Spahi, Jewelled Girdle, Catoma, Neil, Brampton, Wishbone, Hawthorn, Cat-i-mes, Wild Country, lanerin, Manawhenua, Full Measure, Pal, Morehu, Excella Tea, Puriri Park, Merry Lu, Light Step, Operatic, Royal Action, Roman Mascot, Cynthia N., Lady Derision, Escalus and Billy Boy.

TAKANINI TRIALS,

BRONZE EAGLE SPRINTS FAST

The inside grass track was available for fast work at Takanini this morning, but there was not a great deal doing. Exageration (Gilmer) worked lazily over five furlongs, which she covered in 1.7. Closing Time (Jones), Gay. Marigold (Inglis) and Letitia (Moore) ran half a mile in 50 3-ss, but the first-named pair could have improved on that time. Bronze Eagle (Gilmer) ran the last five furlonge of his work in 1.2 2-5, being assisted by Bell Topper over the last half-niile. Eefresher (Stewart) and Chief Jewel (Jonee) were responsible for a nice effort over five furlongs, running the distance in 1.2 1-5. Arch Ruler (Gilmer) easily defeated I>ateeria (Edward!) at the" finish of five furlongs in 1.3. Eaglet (Inglis) and Chief Joy (Jones) pleased while running a mile in 1.44 3-5. The first half occupied 53 3-ss. Yoicks (Bagby) ran six furlongs in 1.20 4-5;

OFF TO SYDNEY.

Tui Mint, the four-year-old gelding by Catmint from Adi Vimivola, who is in E. Pope's'stable, will be sent to' Sydney on Dec-ember 11, and will do his future racing over there.
