WELCOME HOME.

Symoudsville Studio was beautifully decorated last evening when Mr. H. T. Merritt and Mrs. Merritt entertained a number of guests to welcome their son, Mr. H. G. Chisholm Merritt (who is on furlough) to Auckland, arid also in honour of the recent coming of age of their younger son, Mr. F. E. Roy Merritt. The supper tables were arranged with tall stands of pink and red carnations and sweet peas. Mrs. Merritt received her guests in a peacock blue souple satin, with decoration of fresh tulips. Among those present were: Mrs. C. M. Croft, bottle green satin; Mrs. Eric Yates, pastel pink lace and apple green ring velvet; Mrs. Hugh Fenton, royal blue tulle and gold lace; Mrs. Hugh Corbin, water lily green lace; Mrs. F. P. Worley, black embossed chenille, embroidered in gold and brown; Mrs. H. Boyd, wistaria blue moire; Mrs. J. Kingston, duchess blue chiffon and bands of gold lace; Miss Lois Mahon, blue organdie trimmed with pink; Miss Joy Moody, daffodil satin; Miss Annette George, hyacinth ,blue satin; Miss Judy Aicken, pastel pink satin; Miss . Shirley Frater, black satin beaute; Miss Gwen Kingston, ivory satin; Miss June Donald, ivory satin, apple green and white hip bow'; .
