A virile volunteer movement is growino- in the Paung-de"area, north of Rangoon, among well-bred young men. since the, atrocities by the "tiger" army against peaceful people. *. .
The volunteers wear uniform, and cooperate Avith the police, or act independently, as circumstances dictate. Every brush with the rebels has been marked by great bravery and keenness. .->.;'
