TRACK GALLOPS.

WORK AT ELLERSLIE, FINALS FOR SATURDAY, SEVERAL SMART TRIALS RECORDED.

Beautiful weather prevailed for the final V ,/v' gallops at Ellenslie this morning. All the - fast work was done 011 the course proper ' with the poles 25ft out from the rails. The ■ going was excellent.

Catoma was the first to work, goinjr about seven furlongs, being timed 'to lun the last half-mile in 545. Stimuli Titanette and Grand Spirit were in that order after completing four furlongs in > 51 4-ss. The first-named pair did their work well. Gold Money jumped off at a-five-furlong post, running the first two furlongs in 26 4-fe, and the full distance in 1.5 3-3. She carried a light weight but it was a useful effort. Brampton' and Neil were sent a mile, covering the first half in 53 3-ss, and the full distance in 1.49 2-5. They were together at the finish Brampton pleasing most. Royal Gallant sprinted up the straight on the Jfo. 3 grass track. Sir Mond, who got the best > of the start, was always going than Bennic throughout a round, which occupied 2.9 1-5, the last six furlongs takine 1.23. Sir Mond did his work well, but the time was only fair.

Karangapai was in front oE. Moonfleet and Autahi at the end of six furlongs, the first three taking 395, and the full distance 1?20 4-5. The firet-named put plenty of dash into his work.
