MOUNT EDEN CROQUET.
There was brilliant weather yesterday afternoon , for the opening of the Mount Eden Croquet Club's season. The club s colours, in light and dark blue flowers, were used in profusion for decoiatuig the tea tables and pavilion. The Mayoress of Mount Eden, Mrs. T. McNab, who opened the green, wore a. black cloth ensemble, fur stole and cire straw hat. Mrs. C. McGill, the president of the club, who threw the first ball across the lawn, wore a cornflower figured crepe de chine, beige vest and beige felt hat. The hon. secretary, Mrs. W. J. McKay, wore an almond green corded faille and green | Bangkok hat. The committee of the 'club present were: Mrs. W. G. Allen (vice-president), Mesdames A. T. Percy, Percy Samon, J. M. Sherriff, Solon, Morrison, Weir, I/ugton, A. G. Brown, Bankin, Turner, Hooton, Somervell and Miss Mason. Among the guests were: Mesdames E. H. Potter, Hamilton (president A.C. executive), B. Keesing (secretary A.C. executive), Oswald, Gill, Cole, Ellett, Smytheman, Windsor, Powley, Matthews, Henwood, Shanly, Robertson, Cutten, Boag, Thompson, Wheatley, Butler, Hamlin, Wliyte, Clark, Muuro Clark, Stevens, Morton, Exler, : Murdock, Coates, Miller, Mullens, Percy,, Rankin, Salmon, Woods, White, Weir. . : Prizewinners were: Mesdames Mcßride, McPhail, Stringer, Knight and Rose.
