Other speakers said the matter appeared to be a little dispute between the ladies of the Welfare League and the executive of the Unemployed Association. In the absence of representatives of the Welfare League, any suggestion to amalgamate might not be agreed to, and there was no means of compelling union, or of preventing any new organisation being started. Eventually it was resolved, on the motion of Mr Ryan, seconded by Mr J. I). Anthony, that both the Welfare League and the Unemployed Association should still function as before, and that it be a suggestion that the Unemployed Association call a public meeting and report the work to date, with the view to enlarging its committee.
