Nearly 13.000 books were published in Britain in 1929. Of these 3708 were new novels: 037 were poetry and drama-: 1533 were children's books; -3207 were new editions of old books; 3SO were translations: 187 were editions de luxe. The 'remainder were educational or technical books.
