TENNIS DANCE.

The Welcome Tennis Club held their annual dinner, dance and prize-giving at the Penrith Social Hall, Karangahape Road, on Saturday evening. The prizewinners for the season were: —A grade: Women's single championships, Miss K. Gay, runner-up, Mrs. Wascy; women's doubles, Mrs. Wascy and Miss D. Stewart; combined doubles, Miss D. Stewart and Mr. R. Gay. B Grade: Women's single championship, Mrs. Gotobed, runner-up, Mrs. L. W. Miller; women's doubles, Mesdames Gotobed and Jenkinson; women's single handicap, Jaffe Cup winner, Miss B. Townley; runner-up, Mrs. Wascy; combined doubles, Miss J. Smith and Mr. S. Miller; women's doubles handicap tourney, Mrs. Jenkinson and Miss M. Miller, runnersHp, Mrs. Miller and Miss Gay; combined winners, Miss McKay and Mr.. C. Hughes. The dining tables were beautifully [arranged with gold and lemon Iceland poppies, the visitors receiving humorous fancy paper caps and novelty favours. Dancing was indulged in. Mrs. R. A. Gotobed acted as hostess, and wore a peach souple satin, with jade green lame. The assisting committee were: Mrs. Q. W. Miller, beige floral glace silk; Miss E. Gay, powder blue lace; Miss D. Stewart, jade green georgette. Members and visitors present were: Mrs. C. E. Dowden, black silk fischc net; Mrs. C. Lloyd, black ninon; Mrs. L. Studman, navy blue crepo de chine and lemon; Mrs. Wasey, flame crepe de chine; Mrs. Pilgrim, fuchsia georgette and bridge coatee; Mrs. Richard's, eau de nil lace.
