Dr. C. H. Cunningham, of the research station at Palmereton North, who has been investigating disease among the Auckland strawberry heds, left this morning for Te Kauwhata, where he met the local fruitgrowers. He will join the Main Trunk train this evening and return to Palmerston North.

Br. E. C. Lindsay, C.8.E., F.E.C.S., who performed the operation for appendicitis on H.R.H. the Duke of Gloucester, is a New Zealander by birth. He was educated at the Southland Boys' High School, Invercargill, where his father, the Rev. George Lindsay, was minister of St. Paul's Church. He entered Otago University with a Junior Scholarship, and later went Home to complete his medical studies.
