DALMATIANS PLIGHT.
"WIFE LEFT WITH FRIEND.
JUDGE GRANTS DIVORCE.
A Dalmatian who sought the dissolution of his marriage in a petition which came before Mr. Justice Smith, in the Supreme Court to-day, said that his wife had gone away with a man whom he had befriended while out of work.
Petitioner was Ivan Erceg (Mr. H. F. Guy), and respondent was Matija Erceg. Ivan Vlahovich ■ was cited as co-respon-dent.
In his evidence Erceg said he was married in December, 1925, at Dargaville. Three years ago his wife left him at Okaihau, and from inquiries he found that she had gone in a motor car with the co-respondent. Vlaliovich Tiad been staying at witness' cottage, and witness had assisted him because he was unemployed. His wife and the co-respondent went to Wellington and started a diningroom together.
Costs were allowed against the corespondent, but counsel said it was thought he had left New Zealand with the respondent.
