SOCIETY OF MUSICIANS.
The Auckland Society of Musicians, president and council, held a reception in the Lyceum Club last evening to welcome "M. Zlatko Balokovic, the celebrated violinist. The lounge was artistically arranged with large bowls of arum lilies, pussy willow and small bowls of red carnations. An excellent programme was supplied by the Lyric Four, who sang "Sunset" and "Negro Melody." Madame Irene rendered the aria from "La Boheme," and Miss Maida Hooker gave an excellent rendering of "Gold Fish" (De Bussey). The guests were welcomed by Dr. Kenneth" Phillips, the president, and the council. Madam Balokovic wore a gown of currant red crepe de chine and black Persian lamb coat. The guests included Baron Kjell Fleetwood and Mr. Maurice Ralph. ''
