BAPTIST TABERNACLE.
Meetings in connection Avith the seventysixth anniversary of the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle Church were held-on Monday evening, when a large number of people gathered to farewell two members who are leaving for missionary work in China, Mr. Howard Knight and Miss Woods. Ihe missionaries-designate were the recipients of presents. Last night the school hall was crowded with those who met for the annual tea preceding the business meeting. The Rev. Joseph W. Kemri presided, in presenting the report for the year, Mr. S. 1. Page, secretary, called attention to much.activity in all 'departments of the work, and expressed satisfaction that the receipts showed' Only a very slight decrease. Ihe ballot resulted in the election of the following office-bearers to fill vacancies:—Elders, Messrs. J. T. Holmes and JChristie; deacons, Messrs. F, C. Brookbanks and S. Barry. The secretary, Mr. b. T Page, and the treasurers, Messrs. VY. H. Lamb and F. S. Battley, were reappointed for a further term. • ~ .
