SUNNY PARK DAIRYING.

16 PER CENT INCREASE,

MATAMATA, Wednesday,

In his annual address to the suppliers of the Sunny Park (Te Poi) Co-op. Dairy Company, Ltd., Mr. John Bell, who was completing his eighth year as chairman, said the past season marked an epoch in the company's history, as it now had the advantage of a dual plant. It could face uncertain periods with the alternative* of manufacturing either butter or cheese. The company s output for the seaeon had increased by 16 per cent butterfat, the total being 497 tons of 161 tons of butter, and 17% tons of whey butter. These were somewhat remarkable figures, when it was considered that not two decades ago the land in the vicinity of the factories was hawked through New Zealand at a few shillings per acre. The year past had been a worrying one. Cheese had opened well, so that many butter suppliers had turned over to its manufacture. However, prices for that product had dropped below expectations. The directors had since ordered the cessation of the manufacture of standardised cheese. The pay-out was 12.02 d per lb for the whole season's supply. Messrs. C. Stopford, J. Hill and C. Mudford were re-elected to the directorate, and Messrs. Sanson and O'Meara auditors.
