AN OLD-TIME REMEDY.

A correspondent was asking for oldfashioned remedies. Here is one for sore eyes and sties. Take a clean cork and a stout darning needle; place the cork behind the ear, and then pierce the lobe with the needle; next insert a little earring called a sleeper. If a ring is not to be had, a clean piece of thread can be used, but it does not look so well as the other. This causes a slight soreness for a few days, after which it will be seen that the cause of the trouble has vanished. This is a very good remedy, as many elderly folk know. *ESSIE>.jGEOSBi
