HOSPITAL AUXILIARY.

A meeting of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary was held last week, Mrs. E. A. Kidd presiding. Mrs. Neill reported that Onehunga's ,sub-committees were busy visiting, mending and distributing sweets and literature. Woollen singlets and underpants had been given to patients at the Infirmary. A concert arranged by Mrs. McKendrick was given at the Infirmary this month. Mrs. Balgarnie and her committee had equipped and managed the stall at the Winter Show for several days. The purchasing and distributing committee had purchased men's shoes, 52 yards of wineeyette, 56 yards of flannel and men's shirts. Parcels had been received from Birkdale, Henderson, Glen Eden, Titirangi and Te Atatu institutes. The outside workers, Mesdames Nelson, King and Adamson, had done a lot of work this month. Mts. Maben reported that her committee had taken several patients for motor drives. Mre. Carr-Smith, of the city sewing circle, presented a report, already published. At their stall at the Winter Show the guessing competition had realised £17 3/0, and, with other contributions, handed in £21 8/3. Miss Pinlaysoiij depot assistant, appreciated donations of flowers, magazines, jams and gramophone records received during the month from outside donors. Twentysix patients had been taken to their homes by Miss Murray's committee. Mrs. Dreaver, convener of the wireless committee, reported progress and the gift of. three crystal sets. Mount Eden branch had contributed 38 garments to the depot. Milk, eggs, meat, groceries and other assistance had been given where necessary. Two donations of £5 had been received. This branch's work among T.B. patients is particularly good. The result of the. sales made at the stall, combined with the art union at the Winter. Show, totalled £114. The bridge party held during.July at Milne and Choyce's made £26. Monetary donations had been received from Mrs. C. Ferguson, Mrs. Kent, tho Girl Guides' Association and the U.S.S. Co. girls.
