CYCLIST'S INJURIES.
JURY AWARDS £1104 DAMAGES
The hearing of a claim arising out of a collision on Lincoln Road, near Henderson, last January ended at the Supreme Court yesterday evening, and the jury awarded the plaintiff damages. The case was heard before Mr. Justice Herdman and a jury of twelve. Plaintiff was Barry Baker, tent and cover maker, of Point Chevalier, and the defendant was L. P. Philliippe, farmer, Helensville. Plaintiff claimed £354 special damages and £1250 general damages. He was in hospital from January until May last and had one leg amputated. The hearing of, the case lasted two days. The jury retired at 3.20 p.m. yesterday and returned with a verdict at 7.45. They awarded plaintiff the full amount claimed as special damages and gave him £750 by w.iy of general damages, a total of £1104.
