LATE FATHER GONDRINGER.
MEMORIAL AT MOUNT ALBERT
Owing to the wet weather yesterday afternoon the ceremony of unveiling a memorial to the late Father Gondringer in the grounds at the Roman Catholic Church, Mount Albeit, was postponed till next month. Father Gondringer was killed in the earthquake at Napier, and at the same time the seminary at Greenmeadows was destroyed. It is proposed, therefore, that when the unveiling ceremony is held the offertory should be devoted to the fund for reconstruction of the seminary building.
The memorial is a replica of the original Our Lady of Lourdes. It is Oft high on a base raised sft. An inscription states that the memorial is to the six years' faithful work of Father Gondringer in the district.
