Nearly £1000 worth of banknotes and Treasury notes had been left unguarded, rand there they remained for" over a quarter of an hour. A hectic half hoar ended wHen it was reported that the notes were safe. Fortunately they had come into honest hands, having been observed on the table by a member of the escort of another city bank. He handed them over to the teller on duty. So all was well that ended welL
