PORTLAND CLUB'S GOOD YEAR. The report and balance-sheet presented at the annual meeting of the Portland Bowling Club, Wliangarei, showed the club to be in a very prosperous condition. Following were the officers elected: —President. Mr. F. G. Gower: vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Brewis and F. Briggs; secretary, Mr. P. Caunt ; treasurer. Mr. F. G. Gower; auditor, Mr. G.. K. Guest; green superintendent. Mr. G. Da vies; delegate to North Auckland Centre, Mr. C. Williams ; committee, Messrs. J. Grant. E. Leece, \\. Williams, A. Neal and C. Williams; match committee, Messrs. F. Briggs, T. Brewis and J. 11. Grant. The president presented the trophies won during the season. KENSINGTON CLUB. WMANGAREI. this day. Twenty attended the annual meeting of the Kensington Bowling Club last night. The report showed the finances to be in a healthy position, there being a credit bal a nee of £151. The election of officers resulted as follows : Patrons, Hon. A. J. Murdoch and Messrs. W. Jones, R. Finch : president, Mr. F 11. Steadinan: vice-presidents. Messrs. J. Clarke and K. G. M. Kelly; treasurer, Mr W. Sword; secretary, Mr. G. B. Moore; screen superintendent. Mr. F. Cliff: auditor. \y e Cooke : delegates to North Auckland Centre. Messrs. E. G. W. Tibbits and C. V. Stringer: green umpires, Messrs. W. F. Cliff (Thursday), E. G. W. Tibbits (Satur- ' "S'ine nominations were received for five vacancies on the general committee. After a ballot the following were declared elected : Messrs. J. Clarke, Windust, Neild, Stringer, and Rust. Other committees were set up as follow : Match. Messrs. A. J. Mackay, E. G. W. Tibbits and M. Staple: tournaments, Messrs. C. J. Moore, A. H. Curtis and C. V. Stringer. , , It was decided that instead of sole selectors for Thursday and Saturday a committee of three be appointed. An amendment, that three selectors be appointed for each day was defeated overwhelmingly. Five we're nominated for the selectorships, the following being elected : Messrs. C. Cliff, A. J. Mackay and E. G. Tibbits.
