VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB.
PRESENTATION OF FRIZES
The thirty-first annual presentation of prizes of the Victoria Cruising Club took place last evening in the Manchester Unity Hall, Victoria Street West. There was a big attendance of members and their friends, also representatives from the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Aliarana, Ponsonby, Devonport, Point Chevalier and Tamaki Yacht Clubs ana the Power Boat AssociationMr. W. Dervan, vice-president, welcomed their patron, Mr. Ernest Davis, after his three years' absence in England and called on him to present the prizes. Mr. Davis thanked members for their hearty welcome and said he was glad to be with them all again. He was pleased to see such a fine array of trophies and to learn that the club had a good racing season. Their thanks were due to Commodore L. A. Tercel, Vice-Commodore G. Parker, and Rear-Commodore J. Evans, also Mr. MeGehan, their secretary, for the work so cheerfully done for the club.
The principal prize winners were as follow :—Anzac Cup, presented by J. Mackay, won by Fay; . Mackay Memorial Shield, presented by Mr. Geo. Mackay, won by Starloch; Surfdale Shield, presented by presidents, won by Starloch ; Casey Cup, presented by Mr. W. Casey (president), won by Mowai; Rao Clip, presented by Mi'. It. Rae, won by occptre; Boonstra Memorial Cup, presented by Messrs. W. and L. Dervan. won by Rita 11. Fay also won the aggregate prize for yachts and Namoi for launches. Other prize winners were : Spray, two lirsts, one third; Starlight, one first, two sc-onds; Omatere, one first, one second; Mowai, two firsts; Malua, first and second; Valeria, first-and second: Marie, first and, two thirds; Avro, three firsts ; Sceptre, two firsts; Swiftsure, first 'and second; Fay, three firsts, second and third; Rita 11., two first; Lois, first, two seconds; Rangi. first, two thirCs; Romana, first : Namoi. two firsts, second and third ; Young Zealandia, first and- third; Diono, lirst; Crusader, first.
