Mr W. Haryatt, of Sydney, is at the Royal Hotel. Messrs. R. D. Lees and W. S. Spark, of England, are afc the Grand Hotel. Lieut.-Commander E. G. Jenkins, member of the Auckland City Council, will leave by the Sonoma en route to England on August o. Members of the Southland Rugby team, which is to play the Auckland representatives on Saturday, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. A. E. Juli, M.P. for Waipawa, has been elected chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee, which is to consider the Transport Licensing Bill. ° Mr. D. J. J, Pigott, vicar of St. Peter's paiisli, Waipawa, has resigned his charge and he will leave Wellington by the Langitata on August 15 for England, where he will permanently reside. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, left last evening for Wellington to attend a special committee set up by the Municipal Association executive to consider the Bill.
