AX EXPENDITURE PROTEST

At a meeting of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, held at the home of Mrs. L. R. Crookshank, Grey Lynn, it was resolved to forward to the Prime Minister and t<> Mr. M. .T. Savage, M.P., the following resolution: "That this meeting strongly protests against the decision to use the fund collected by the levy on women solely for men, and urges that it be spent in providing unemployed women and girls with work or sustenance." Mrs. E. Gibson reported progress on the campaign for signatures for the Worlrl Disarmament Petition, and the member? expressed appreciation at the excellent results obtained in the Dominion. Mrs. M. B. Soljak gave a resume of the work in connection with unemployment among women and girls, and pointed out the urgent need for securing work as against the idea of giving charity. It. was decided to persist in the endeavour to secure Government recognition of the schemes formulated for 'the solution of the problem.'
