WHAKATANE CLUB'S RACE,
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) KOPEOPEO, this day.
The Whakatane Cycle Club held a 20mile road race on Saturday last under ideal weather conditions. Ten riders faced the starter, and results are as follow: D. Stewart, 5.30, 1 ; D. Aberhart, scr, 2, and fastest time; W. Hansen, scr, 3; A. Sunkel, i>.o, 4. D. Stewart, the limit man, rode %vell and judged the race to finish two minutes ahead of the next three men, who in turn finished with only a wheel's length between them. Tl. W. Tennn.nt. 7.0, liiui the misfortune to splir a rim early in the race and fell heavily, sustaining slight injuries.
