OBITUARY.
MRS. MARTHA WHEELER. AGED NINETY YEARS. A resident of Auckland for 43 years, Mrs. Martha Wheeler, died'at 33, Finch Street, Morniugside, on June 30. She had lived there for the lust 40 years. Mrs. Wheeler was born 90 years ago in Birmingham, where she wae married to Mr. William Chatwin in 1867. They came to Auckland in 1874 in the ship Agnes Muir, a"nd were sent for a few
weeks to live in Albert Barracks, as houses were then very scarce in the town. Afterwards they were one of three families living in a four-roomed house. Mr. Chatwin died 25 years ago, and subsequently his widow was married to Mr. Charles Wheeler, who survives her. Mrs. Wheeler leaves the following children: Messrs. Harry Chatwin, Arthur Chatwin, Stephen Chatwin, Mrs. J. H. Mclntyre, of Paeroa, and Mks Alice Chatwin. The eldest son, Mr. Harry Chatwin, was for 25 years in the employ of the "Auckland Star," and left to take up a position in Australia.
