SYDNEY ZONE OF PERIL.
(Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. A serious fire occurred at Mcllrath's grocery and provision store, a sixstoreyed building in the danger zone in Pitt Street, Sydney early yesterday morning. The premises were almost gutted. The firemen had a desperate job in preventing the flames from spreading to neighbouring large department stores.. One fireman was injured by falling debris. The damage is estimated, at £10,000. MELBOURNE BLAZE. LAEGE FACTORY DESTROYED. (Received 11.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, this day. The confectionery factory of R. A. Murray (Australasia), Ltd., was destroyed by fire. The damage is placed at £25,000.
