MOUNTED RIFLES BAND.
» The annual meeting of the Auckland Mounted Rifles Band was held at Otahuhu, about 40 members attending. The Otahuhu Borough Council was represented by Messrs. P. W. Grey. Lewes and J. Parsons, who gave the band their assurance of the council's support. The following officers were elected: — Chairman, Mr. G. Webber, sen.; secretary, Mi". N. C. McGonagle; committee, Messrs. J. Webber. A. McDowall, J. Goodall. G. Rose and F. Brady; librarians, Messrs. S. Hilditch and Gordon Webber; custodian, J. Goodall. Messrs. H. Thornton and J. Goodall were elected to represent the band on the Otahuhu Service Association. The band will carry on under the volunteer scheme, and it is hoped to have its first camp under the new system next year.
