RUSSIAN HONEY.
SELLING AT 2&D PER LB. The annual report of the New Zealand Co-operative Honey Producers' Association in dealing with the export market, says: — "There is one aspect of the wider issues that bears rather directly on our own affairs, and that is the dumping of Russian produce, including honey, on the markets on which we depend. The volume of Russian exports is sure to increase rapidly with the development of their five-year plan, and eventually will assume a serious aspect, as it is impossible for goods which have to be sold on a cost basis, that is, at a price to cover coet of production, to compete againet goods which are sold irrespective of any cost, such as the Russian exports. The price of Russian honey and the quantities in which it is being offered are already having serious effects on the Home markets. According to American reports it is also being sold in Germany at 2%d a lb."
