With the idea of helping the Rev. Canon C4rant Cowen's coal and blanket fund, Mrs. J. W. Nutter has organised the sale of 10,000 one-shilling picture tickets, which will admit buyers to any of the picture houses run by Amalgamated Theatres, Ltd. Under the auspices of the women's Unemployment Committee of the New Zealanders' Association, it has been arranged for a number of unemployed girls wearing official badges to sell the tickets. The imemiployed girls will receive 3d for every ticket they sell.
The power of emitting light is possessed by some sharks of the family Spinacidae, to which the common spiny dog fish belongs. The light has a greenish, phosphorescent appearance. It lasts for hours after death.
