DEATH CAUSED BY BLOW.
POLICE INVESTIGATE AT WAITAKI. A FRIENDLY BOXING MATCH. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) OAMARU, Sunday. That the injury which caused death was received in a friendly boxing botit is the conclusion formed concerning the fate of Edgar John Jamieson, aged 22, who was found dead outside his hut at the Waitaki hydro works on Thursday morning, death following hemorrhage of the brain caused by a blow. Sergeant Hall and a plain clothes constable left Timaru for the works this morning to continue the investigations. Jamicsoii informed his father on the night before his death that he was feeling unwell, but there was then no visible trace of a blow on his temple. This was apparent when the body was found. Jamieson was a popular youth and a keen athlete. An argument against the theory of foul play is the lack of known motive. The police returned from the works to-night, and it is understood J tftat exhaustive inquiries failed to reveal anything to justify further action.
