NEW CHAIRMAN OF DIRECTORS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. At the annual meeting- of the Phoenix Assurance Company, held in London; Sir Gerald Ryan intimated his retirement from the position of chairman, and Mr. P. J. Pybus was appointed to succeed him. Sir Gerald Ryan remains on the board of directors.
