VESSEL STRANDED.
MISHAP OFF NOUMEA. SYDNEY, June 18. The Messageries Maritimes' island steamer La Perous, 4885 tons, is reported to be stranded on a reef near Noumea, but she is in no immediate danger. There are 40 Sydney passengers on board. It ie expected that the vessel will float off at high tide.
