LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
DRAW FOR MID-WEEK GAMES,
The mid-week competition under the control of the Auckland Rugby League will commence to-morrow.afternoon. The draw is as follows :—At Ellerslie: Town Board Rovers v. New Zealand Fertilisers, 3.30 p.m., Mr. Chapman. Carlaw Park: No. 1, Waterside Workers v. Post Office, 3.45 p.m., Mr. E. McCall; No. 2, City Markets v. Nicholson Park, 2.45 p.m., Mr. Kelly; Auckland Loco v. Stonex and Stormont's, 3.45 p.m., Mr. Boneham. The Green Lane v. Birkenhead match will be played at a later date. THE COMPETITION TROPHIES. At a meeting of delegates, Mr. R. Turner presiding, nominations were accepted from ten teams, and the secretary, Mr. H. Catterall, reported that three trophies would be available. It was decided to allocate the Monteith Shield to the championship, the Waitemata (Endean) Shield to the team scoring most championship points in the second round, and the "Nuko" Cup to the winner of the two lower teams on the ladder. No team is entitled to play more than three members of any Saturday clubs, only one of whom may be a representative player. The committee, which in future will meet on Monday evenings at the Carlaw Park office, resolved to make representations to the governing authorities in order to facilitate greater administrative efficiency in the conduct of the competition.
