PARADE OF "MIGHT."
GERMAN NAVAL POWER,
LONDON, May 28.
The most elaborate German naval display since the war marked the review of the' fleet by President von Hindenburg following the launching of the new
"pocket battleship," Deutschland, says the Kiel correspondent of "The Times."
The cruiser Konigsberg, flying the President's standard, took the salute as the seaplanes soared and the fleet steamed past in line ahead, with four battleships of the pre-Dreadnought class in the van. The pocket battleships will progressively replace these.
Then came the two sioter ships of the Konigsborg, built under the replacement clauses of the Peace Treaty, followed by 50 destroyers, submarine chasers, and smaller craft. The crcwe manned the ships, wousinj the enthusiasm of the crowds of sightseers in eteamers and launches.
The Komgsberg, which the Deutschland eclipses in grace, led the parade to the port, passing a three-masted training ship with her yards manned.
