WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.
SPRAGGON-MORTON. The wedding took place at St. Mary's Cathedral,. Parnell, oil Wednesday evening of Miss Martha Melville Morton, second daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Morton, of "Trafalgar Lodge," Trafalgar Street, Oneliunga, to Mr. Eric Joseph Spraggon, eldest son of Mr.- and ilrs.' T. Spraggon, of Waterview Road, Stanley Bay. The church was tastefully decorated with wTiite ribbons, with posies of white flowers, while over the chancel there was a graceful arch of white cosmos, dahlias in pink and white and chrysanthemums intermingled with asparagus fern, which made a dainty setting for the bridal bell, composed of pink and white chrysanthemums. The bride was met at the door by Canon Fancourt, who preceded the bridal party while the wedding march pealed from the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. Edward Morton, wore a beautiful frock of ivory satin beaute, close-fitting, and made with a flowing train effect, over which was worn a handsome tulle veil thrown back from the face and held to the head with halo of orange blossom and pearls. The veil made a long flowing train, and was finished with true lovers' knots embroidered in pearls. The bouquet was composed of roses and white lilies, tied with white satin ribbon. The bridesmaids were Miss Edith Morton and Miss Claire Morton, niece of the bride. Both wei;e dressed alike in daffodil silk net, made close-fitting, and full skirts with frills of net. The headdresses were tulle caps trimmed with silver leaves, and their bouquets were in tones of yellow. The best man was Dr. Taylor, of New Plymouth, and groomsman, Mr. Kov Fisher. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Peter Pan Cabaret. The guests were received by Miss K. Morton, who wore an ensemble of champagne crepe de chine, lace and hat to tone. Mrs. Spraggon was gowned in a navy blue ensemble of lace and crepe de chine, with hat to match. Among the guests were: —Mr. and Mrs. J. Morton, Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Leonard, Mr. and Mrs. A. E.
