KILLED INSTANTLY.
FALL FROM RUNNING BOARD OF LORRY. RESIDENT OF WHAXGAREI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. While returning from a social evening, which had been organised by the Hikurangi Pigeon Fanciers' Club, on Saturday evening, Henry Xewby, aged about 45, a married man with nine children, fell from the running board of alorry which was being driven by Mr. Henry Fearnley, and was killed. The lorry had proceeded about a mile and a quarter and was opposite Wilson's mine when deceased apparently lost his hold and fell on to the roadway. He was killed instantly. An inquest is to be held at Hikurangi.
