A blustering wind and intermittent rair made conditions trying for the George Cup bogev competition at Middlemore on Saturday. Three games in the oantain"s tournament were also played, the principal results being the survival of R. King, the only long handicapper left in the tourney, which has never yet been won by a long handicap plaver." The George Cup this year is decided by the first eight in the bogey playing off in match play. The best cards were:—H. A. Joyce, all square; R. Rainger, all square ; R. King, all square; H. Tidmarch, 1 down; E. Fare, 2 down ; D. MacCormiek, 2 down ; Alan Donald, E. Friedlander, W. S. Ralph, 3 down. _ „. In the captain's tournament R. J. Iving beat Dr. Cowerdale. 2 up; R. Rainger beat V. Wilson, 4 and 3; W. S. Ralph beat H. Joyce, 5 and 4.
